Dan _  J. DANIEL HOVEN, ESQ.
Mr. Hoven is a founding member of Hometown Sports Management with over eight years of experience negotiating player contracts.  In a addition to his experience as a player Agent, he has over 25 years of experience as a trial lawyer. 

Dan has been responsible for negotiating contracts in the multi-million dollar range as well as the implementation of trial and settlement strategies for some of Montana's largest lawsuits.  As a result, Dan provides Hometown Sports Management clients an experienced negotiator with proven techniques.  "Professional athletes are entitled to professional negotiators."

Dan is a certified National Football League and Canadian Football League Contract Advisor, a member of the Sports Lawyers Association, the Montana and California Bars, the Montana Defense Trial Lawyers Association, and the National Association of Railroad Trial Counsel.

Dan is a life long sports enthusiast heavily involved in community activities.

Chris.jpg CHRIS GITTINGS
Chris is also a founding member of  Hometown Sports Management.  Chris is CFLPA certified and has represented clients from Colleges throughout the Western United States in the NFL, CFL and Arena Leagues. His honest and easy going demeanor, as well as his eye for football talent, have enabled him to build an impressive network of relationships in those professional leagues.

Chris has been able to successfully negotiate player contracts in the CFL and Arena Leagues, as well as endorsement and marketing deals for Hometown Sports Management clients.  In 2006, Chris was able to negotiate a contract for an HSM client in the CFL which made him the 2nd highest paid Canadian at his position.  In addition, he often acts as the liaison with local and national media.

Chris was a three-year starter at linebacker for Fort Lewis College, where he earned a spot on the all-conference list.
"In professional sports, the player/agent relationship is about teamwork. Both parties must not only work hard to get to the highest level, but also to stay there."

Chris moved to Helena in 1991 after graduating from Fort Lewis College with a degree in Business Administration.

SHANE LARSON

Shane Larson is a valuable member of the Hometown Sports team. He helps with sports marketing, player statistics, recruiting and the day-to-day operations for Hometown Sports. In addition, he assists HSM clients with a whole host of services from relocation assistance to travel plans to just about anything else a player would need. 

Shane attended Carroll College and played football where he was a two-year All Conference player and a NAIA football.net first team All American as an offensive lineman. He was a teammate of Casey Fitzsimmons, who is now represented by Hometown Sports.

Shane is a Montana native and grew up in Miles City, Montana. He is an enthusiastic person who enjoys being a part of the Hometown Sports team.

DANIEL J. AUERBACH

Dan is a recent graduate of the School of Law and College of Business at the University of Oregon. While earning his MBA, Dan studied sports business in the Warsaw Center for Sports Marketing. During that time, he interned as a marketing consultant for Nike Corporation in Beaverton, Oregon.

Dan co-founded the Sports and Entertainment Law Forum at the University of Oregon. The group was created to foster interest and careers in various aspects of sports and entertainment law, including athlete representation, negotiation and drafting of endorsement agreements, and corporate sponsorship. Dan helped create and market the Warsaw Sports Business Review, the first university-produced sports business journal of its kind, and also helped with the promotion of several charity sporting events.

Dan is a native of Missoula and recently returned to Montana to practice law. He is a passionate sports fan and is particularly interested in college athletics.
